João Pedro scored twice, helping Chelsea advance to the FIFA Club World Cup final.

João Pedro scored twice after joining Chelsea, helping his new team to advance to the FIFA Club World Cup final on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory over Fruminense at the Metropolitan Life Stadium.

Pedro scored a goal from outside the penalty area just 18 minutes after his first start.

In the 56th minute, the Brazilian player's powerful shot hit the crossbar and shot into Fruminense, expanding Chelsea's lead, and Chelsea quickly counterattacked.

Chelsea will face Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in the final on Sunday, with the two European giants participating in another semi-final of the event on Wednesday. After the game, Pedro said that his debut for Chelsea was two goals, which was a "fantastic starter."

"I think this is already good," the 23-year-old said. "I'm so happy. I want to help the team. I know I can score goals today and I did. The team controlled the game today and performed very well, and now we are focusing on the finals."

"I think we have a good team, great players, and I'm happy to play with them. I think this season will be a great season for us."

Chelsea will face Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final.

Pedro reportedly moved to Chelsea from Premier League teams Brighton and Hof Albion last week for £60 million. Last season, he scored 19 goals in various competitions and tied for the Brighton team's top scorer in history. He was immediately selected to the Chelsea Club World Cup roster after signing and came on as a substitute in the Blues quarter-final victory over Palmeiras.

The Brazilian player was placed in the semi-finals starting lineup as another player signed by Chelsea in the summer was unable to play due to a suspension.

The ball did achieve the expected results, and in the 18th minute, Pedro's precise curve ball helped Chelsea take the lead early.

This goal made the game lively, and when the game reached the 25th minute, Fruminense thought it equalized, but when Hermann Cano's shot seemed to be about to score, it was blocked by Chelsea defender Mark Cucurella at the last moment.

This moment rekindled hope for Brazil, which was awarded a penalty for handball shortly after, but after the video assistant referee (VAR) review, referee François Letersier overturned the previous penalty.

Frumenense's pressure made Chelsea's offense more intense. Pedro's shot hit the crossbar and entered the net, which was his second goal in this game.

Pedro scored two goals against Fruminense, demonstrating his strong finishing ability. After two goals, Pedro raised his hands to show respect, and his career began with the Fruminense youth and senior team.

Pedro emphasized that after the victory, the Rio club still holds an important position in his heart.

"I'm in a complicated mood," Pedro told FIFA. "I apologize for these two goals. It's my job. I feel sad to see some of the players I play with, and some of the staff I know. It's sad to see them sad to make me sad because I know it's their dream."

I'm sorry, but the fans of Fruminense know how much I love the club. I hope to return to Fluminense one day. I can't predict the future, but I hope we can meet again.

Pedro has a great start to his career as a Chelsea player and is expected to win his first trophy with the new team in Sunday's final at the Metropolitan Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After the game, Blues head coach Enzo Maresca was proud of the team's performance in this tournament.

"We are very happy and very proud to be in the finals," the Italian player said. "Because this is the Club World Cup, the best clubs in the world are here. So for us, it is something to be proud and happy to be able to debut on Sunday (the final)."
