On August 7, the list of candidates for each award in the 2025 Golden Globe Awards was announced. The high-profile coach of the year award (i.e. the Cruyff Award) nomination has also been announced, which recognizes the head coach of the men's and women's soccer teams that have performed the most in the past season.

Men's Football Best Coach Candidate: The Big Coach's Five Men's Best Coach List is star-studded:

Louis Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain): Leading Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League title in May, ending the French team's 32-year Champions League drought and achieving the trio of the season.

Hans Frick (Barcelona): In his first season, he led the team to complete the unprecedented domestic triple-champion (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Super Cup in Spain). This is the first time that the club has won these three top domestic honors in a single season.

Arne Slotte (Liverpool): After taking over the meritorious coach Klopp, he successfully led the team to the Premier League championship in his first season at Liverpool.

Antonio Conte (Naples): He also led Napoli to win the Serie A championship in his first season as he coached the new team, and beat Inter Milan to the top at the critical stage of the season.

Enzo Maresca (Chelsea): He led Chelsea to win the double championship at the beginning of his tenure, including the European League championship and the FIFA Club World Cup championship after the expansion. Maresca studied under the famous coach Guardiola.

Women's Football Best Coach Candidate: Wigman leads the championship coaches gathered

Five candidates for women's best coaches are also fierce. England coach Sarina Wigman is the biggest favorite:

Sarina Wigman (England): Leading the English women's football team to win the 2025 Women's Football European Cup. The team was on the verge of being eliminated twice during the promotion process but eventually reversed, reaching the finals for the fifth consecutive time, and defeating the defending world champion Spain in the final penalty shootout.

Renee Slehes (Arsenal): Just seven months after being appointed as the interim coach of Arsenal women's football team, he led the team to historic victory in the Women's Champions League. Arsenal defeated Barcelona in the final, becoming the only English team to win the championship so far.

Sonia Bonpasto (Chelsea): coaches Chelsea women's football team to complete the unbeaten season and wins the domestic triple championship (Women's Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup).

Arthur Elias (Brazil): Leading the Brazilian women's football team to the Copa America championship this summer. This is the ninth championship (a total of ten) that Brazil won since its inception in 1991.

Justin Madugu (Nigeria): Last month, the Nigerian women's football team won the African Cup of Nations, the country's tenth landmark championship in the event. The final winner will be announced at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony held at the Chatela Theatre in Paris, France in September this year.
