Pierce: Rooney will be a good commentator, but maybe he wants to coach again in a year
5:42pm, 17 July 2025Football
July 16th Rooney will serve as a commentator on the BBC's ace football program "Match Day", and he will express his views on the show next year's World Cup. Rooney has not been successful in coaching in Birmingham, Plymouth and other teams. English legend Pierce said of Rooney: "Rooney will be a valuable asset to the BBC, he has extensive experience and there is no doubt that Rooney is one of the best players in Premier League history.
"For whatever reason, Rooney's coaching situation seems to be less than ideal. If a club president is looking for a head coach now, it may be difficult for him to think of Rooney first.
"But who knows, Rooney is going to say goodbye to the court for a year. He may like media work very much, and then maybe he will rekindle his interest in coaching, and no one can be sure of it."
